Rise from the Dust (transformed from $7 Yard sale painting to a $1 million piece of art)
Tim Paulson tells the following story about the $1 Million painting titled Rise from the Dust.
Several years ago I was driving through a sleepy little Utah town and drove past a yard sale. I saw something out of the corner of my eye and stopped to take a look. It was a dusty old painting leaning up against a sofa in the driveway. It was a black and white landscape painting that was nice, but I'd never hang it on one of my walls. I felt sorry for it because it was dusty and neglected. I asked the lady running the yard sale if she knew anything about the painting. She laughed and said it had been in the garage for years, and she didn't know anything about it. She offered it to me for $7 - I bought it and took it to my art studio. After time passed I decided I would transform it into a totally cool abstract painting - a colorful work of art that I'd be proud of. After I finished the transformation I saw it as a one-million dollar painting, and that's the price of it today. Since then I've been interviewed about the million-dollar painting on radio, and I appeared with the painting on NBC television in Utah.
